Touched by an Angel

Angels are all around us. They are the work force of our higher power. They come to help us on all levels and in every aspect of our lives. No situation is too big or too small for divine intervention from the angelic realm. Sometimes, our departed loved ones assist us in the same roles as the angels do. Their spirits/souls come to us through the law of attraction being, what we think about we attract.

Like many retired Islanders, my husband and I fly south every winter, spending 4 months in Florida. Upon my return home to the Vineyard four years ago, I had no idea that I would be touched by an angel.

As I unpacked my jewelry from its travel case, I carefully unwrapped each of my necklaces from their protective papers. I had wrapped each of them in paper before leaving Florida so the chains would not tangle on our journey home. After unwrapping them, I placed them all safely back into my wooden jewelry box, except for one.

I chose not to put away my diamond pendant necklace, deciding to wear it in the next couple of days. So, I left the necklace wrapped in its protective paper atop my bureau. I continued my annual duty of unpacking our suitcases.

The next day while cleaning the winter's dust from my bedroom. I mindlessly grabbed that paper from the top of my bureau, thinking it was trash. I walked down the hall into the kitchen. Standing at my sink, I tossed the paper into the trash. As soon as the paper left my hand, I realized what I had done.

I panicked and thought, “Oh, no my diamond necklace is still in the paper!”

I checked the trash all the way to the bottom. It wasn't there. Maybe, it fell into the sink somehow? I called a plumber and he took the drain apart, still nothing. I searched endlessly.

Heart broken for losing this sentimental gift from my husband, I began to pray. “Please God, angels, and anyone who is listening, help me to find my necklace.” Two weeks passed, I continued to search and pray.

Chris Rebello

While I was vacuuming the living room, I remembered it was my nephew Chris Rebello's birthday. He had passed away suddenly five years earlier. Turning off my vacuum cleaner, I picked up his framed picture from my table. Pausing to look at his photo, I kissed it and said, “Happy Birthday Chris, I miss you.”

I placed the photo back down on my living room table, and looked up. There, directly in my line of vision, hanging from the back of my kitchen chair, and glistening in the sunlight, was my diamond pendant necklace!  I couldn't believe my eyes! I had sat in that chair eating all my meals everyday for past two weeks. I had walked passed that chair a hundred times. My necklace was not there.

I knew instantly this was a gift from Chris. I was moved to tears, and deeply touched that he had heard my prayers. This, of course, is now, my favorite piece of jewelry.

Whether it is something big like helping us to heal our bodies or our finances, or something small like helping us to find a piece of jewelry. Our angels and loved ones are always happy to lend a “hand“, and “touch” our lives.  All we need to do is remember to ask.

With love,
